In the spray tan world, body contouring is a wildly popular form of spray tan art (yes, art!) that allows you to carefully shade different muscles, curves and parts throughout the body to create a look that will allow your client to look beach ready in the matter of minutes.
Body contouring is applied to the client before their spray tan, to allow full visibility for the artist to create the desired outcome. Using a very small gun for precise spraying, the artist is able to sculpt muscles and enhance bone structure including the face, cheek bones, forehead and even nose. You can use body contouring on the legs, stomach, back, arms, collarbones and cleavage; the creativity is limitless.
Express Tans are very popular. It’s more convenient to be able to shower sooner and resume normal activities. Here is how they work:
👙The difference is in showering time.
👙You can shower it off between 2-4 hours, depending on your skin type and how dark you want to go.
👙Everyone’s skin is beautifully unique. The timing for tans is different for everyone.
👙We’ll determine the timing for each person. Some are 2.5 hours for a dark tan, while others are 4 hours.
👙You HAVE TO shower it off in the time frames that are given. This is strict. We always suggest going home after your tanning session so you don’t lose track of time.
👙What happens if you keep it on longer? Poor fading and coloring.
👙When you shower the tan off, you won’t have much of a tan. That is normal. It develops over 24-48 hours (everyone’s different) and you will get darker as time goes on.
👙Are Express Tans better? The Premium Express is the least drying to the skin to help develop better and last longer. When it comes to choosing which tan works best for you, it also depends on your showering schedule.
PREPARATION IS KEY!
24-48 HOURS BEFORE YOUR SESSION
EXFOLIATE. EXFOLIATE. EXFOLIATE.
Pre-session exfoliation is the first step to achieving flawless spray tanning results. It is best to clear away dry, dead skin cells with a sulfate-free scrub. This will polish and prep the pH balance of the skin to keep orange undertones at bay.
Avoid using bar soaps, high pH shower products or in-shower moisturizers. Be sure to complete any waxing, shaving or use of depilatory creams no later than 24 hours prior to your session.
